Chris, having achieved an LLM (Master of Laws) & BVC (Very Competent) has accumulated vast knowledge and experience across the Civil jurisdiction.
In February 2019, Chris was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in the Civil Jurisdiction
In October 2019, Chris was ticketed as a Deputy District Judge to hear Greater Manchester Financial Remedy Pilot cases.
In November 2019, Chris was additionally ticketed as a Deputy District Judge to hear Private Children Act cases.
For 17 years, Chris has developed specialism in claims for personal injury, credit hire & money claims arising from negligence. Chris has given a range of seminars to large local firms.
Chris enjoys quantum work, be it quantum advices/schedules, achieving positive results at stage 3, disposal hearings or assessment of damages or running technical portal arguments.
Mostly instructed by the Defendant, Chris has secured several positive outcomes at trial e.g. strikeouts; dismissals as claim has not come to proof; findings of fundamental dishonesty.
Chris has expertise across all tracks and all types of hearings. Chris will also consider acting in Costs & Case Management Hearings, applications for costs, & other costs assessments.
Chris has a background of assisting spouses/parents for a decade in seeking remedies relating to injunctions, private children act cases, financial provision & matrimonial breakdown.
In his personal time, Chris chairs Referral Order Panels & campaigns for local causes such as for many years was on the fundraising committee for the Babygrow Appeal (raising funds for this & charitable causes by completing Tough Mudder/half marathons). Since 2003, Chris attends nearly every game at Manchester City & attends Six Nations Scottish Rugby Union games.
The real focus of Chris’ leisure time is ensuring quality time with his Wife, Sarah (also in Chambers) & enjoying every precious second with his, impressive, headstrong, rapidly growing, girls.
To achieve work/life balance, Chris travels across the Northern Circuit, N. Wales, Yorkshire, Birmingham but won’t travel further. Chris doesn’t do CFA work but shall assist flexibly by phone.
