Oriel Chambers has a longstanding history of undertaking work for the Government Legal Department (GLD), formerly the Treasury Solicitor's Department (TSol).

As members of the Attorney General’s Civil Panel of Regional Counsel to the Crown, members of Oriel Chambers’ GLD Group are instructed in a diverse array of private and public law advisory, drafting and advocacy work for central government departments, executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies, including the Ministry of Defence, Home Office, Ministry of Justice, Department for Work and Pensions, Commissioners for HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Crown Prosecution Service, Care Quality Commission, Highways Agency and many others.

Panel members undertake complex cases, often involving matters of public importance, in a range of courts and tribunals at first instance and appellate level.
