John Gray will sit as a Nominated Judge of the Court of Protection at Tier 2 (Circuit Judge level work).  The Court of Protection is a superior court of record created under the Mental Capacity Act 2005. It has jurisdiction over the property, financial affairs and personal welfare of people who lack mental capacity to make decisions for themselves.

John will combine his new role with his practice in chambers as well as continuing to sit as a Recorder in the Family Court and as a Tribunal Judge in the Mental Health Tribunal.
