I am a personal injury and commercial practitioner with wide experience of a number of areas of work, in particular road traffic, employers’ liability and public liability cases.
I have a particular interest in defending fraudulent claims. Initially, I developed my practice in this area in relation to road traffic accidents. I have considerable expertise in all varieties of RTA frauds, including low velocity impact cases, occupancy issues, induced accidents, staged and fictitious accidents, multi-party fraud rings, ghost brokerage and exaggerated claims in medium and high value PI cases. I have also applied my experience of fraud to other areas of PI work, including EL and PL.
I have done extensive work on behalf of defendants in a wide variety of other civil cases, including cases involving credit hire, Motor Insurers’ Bureau, chronic physical and psychiatric injuries, pain disorder and high value special damage issues. In addition, I regularly conduct holiday, medical negligence and criminal injuries cases.
My experience of commercial work includes contract, insolvency, mortgage and construction matters. As well as civil court work, I appear regularly in tribunals and at inquests.
Although the main focus of my practice has been defendant work, I am available to represent claimants as well, including on a CFA basis where specifically agreed.
I welcome involvement at all stages in the litigation process, including advisory work at all stages in the case, drafting statements of case and other documents, representation at preliminary hearings and trials, negotiation and mediation. I regularly travel nationwide in the course of my practice.
I regularly provide lectures and seminars as part of Chambers’ professional education programs, both in-house and on specific arrangement with solicitors. I have recently provided seminars in areas such as ‘expert shopping’, credit hire, preparing evidence in fraud cases and relief from sanction.
Outside work, my interests include hiking, films and photography.
