Oriel Chambers is proud to be running its annual Mooting Competition again this year.
This competition is open to second- and third-year law students at the four Universities around Liverpool: the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Edge Hill University, and Liverpool Hope University.
For those who haven’t tried mooting before, it’s a fantastic way to develop your public speaking skills and legal knowledge, get some great experience to take into a career at the law, meet other law students and figures from the legal community, and also hopefully have some fun while doing so!
The deadline for entries is 4pm 6th October 2023. You can enter by emailing mooting@orielchambers.co.uk with your name, your teammate’s name, and your university; and you will soon be receiving an email with the first problem question and the competition rules.
Online Training Event
Before then, we are running an Online Training/Information Event via Teams at 6pm on 27th September 2023.
We are delighted to be joined by a special guest: Megan Gough, a Third Year LLB student at Edge Hill University, who was a Finalist in last year’s Mooting Competition.
Also in attendance will be Jack Moore, a Barrister at Oriel Chambers who is running the Competition this year.
The session will involve some opening remarks about what Mooting is and the structure of the competition, and after this point there will be a Q&A session in which we will answer any questions you might have about Mooting.
