An established common law set since 1969, we provide tailored, specialist legal services and advocacy at the local, regional and national level.

Oriel Chambers are a Northern Chambers with a National outreach who work collaboratively with all our clients, wherever they are based, to deliver high quality, focussed and value driven work.

With a physical presence in Liverpool and Preston, after 50 years, Oriel Chambers has links and clients across the UK.

Whilst attending Courts nationwide, including the Appellate and Supreme Courts, our 40 members include Recorders, district Judges, Assistant Coroners and members of the Attorney General Panel. Our specialised practice groups focus on commercial litigation, family, including children and family finance proceedings, crime, personal injury and public law.

Facililties

Modern Office

Refurbished in 2010, Oriel Chambers at Liverpool offer superb, modern facilities for conferences, seminars, joint settlement meetings and mediations. Each of our five conference rooms offers Wi-Fi access, telecommunications and refreshments. Oriel Chambers at Preston has three, similarly well equipped conference rooms.

Library

Chambers’ library provides members with a full range of reference texts and statutes, as well as subscriptions to all leading authorities.

Video Conferencing

Oriel Chambers has state-of-the-art video conferencing system which has for a long time been used and enjoyed by members and clients at Liverpool and now Preston.

This excellent facility allows Solicitors, Counsel and Experts to conduct effective meetings with clients and colleagues anywhere around the world, saving both time and money.

HISTORY

1864

Oriel Chambers is a Grade 1 Listed Building located on Water Street, Liverpool. The building, a work by Peter Ellis, was built in 1864 and comprises 43,000 sq.ft set over 5-floors.

2007

The building, and 16 Cook Street, featured in the ITV (Granada / Tyne Tees) television programme Grundy’s Northern Pride, looking at John Grundy’s favourite buildings in the north of England, which aired on 9 January 2007.
